Because It’s Mother’s Day…

With Mother’s Day coming up this weekend, we think this post by Daniel Pink is worth a read and watch.

PINKCAST 3.03: This is how to be a better (and saner) parent.

In honor of Mother’s Day, today’s Pinkcast offers a tip on how to become a more capable and compassionate parent.

For advice, I go to Michele Gelfand, a University of Maryland professor and author of one of my favorite books of the last year, Rule Makers, Rule Breakers: How Tight and Loose Cultures Wire Our World.

ONE MORE THING: In which I confess my own parenting mistakes.

Let’s stick with the parental theme. A few weeks ago, Lifehacker reached out asking to discuss my approach to parenting. Because I was so grateful they believed I had an “approach,” I sat for the interview.

You can read the conversation here. Be warned, though: It’s not pretty. I’ve done some really stupid things. But at least you’ll learn the Pink family motto.

As always, thanks for reading. And don’t forget to call your mother!

Cheers,
Daniel Pink
